Gbenga Somuyiwa joined the board of Leenok in 2018 as a non-executive director bringing his wealth of commercial experience and financial acumen in the provision of financial solutions and sound corporate governance to ensure business well-being and continuity.
Gbenga is an astute and commercially savvy Chartered Accountant, Certified Forensic Accountant and Certified Business Recovery & Insolvency consultant. He had a meritorious working career spanning over thirty years of which twenty-three years were in the Finance & Commercial function of the Shell Companies in Nigeria where he retired in 2015. During this period, he had cross functional exposure in the area of Financial Control, Business Finance, Audit and Relationship Management. His various roles at various times, exposed him to interfacing directly with the external stakeholders, including, but not limited to NNPC, NAPIMS, DPR, oil producing communities, auditors and banks. Prior to this, he worked as the Management Accountant / Deputy Chief Accountant of John Holt Engineering (A division of John Holt PLC) and as the Financial Accountant of Tripple Gee Nigeria PLC among others.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA), a full member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (MNIM), Associate Member of the Institute of Certified Forensic Accountants of Nigeria, Member, Business Recovery & Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria and International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Professionals.
